I got a new Mavic UST wheelset for my Bro and a set of regular WTB tires that I wanted to run. The tires are WTB Prowler MX (front) and Prowler SS (rear) in 2.3 size. Here are my experiences running these tires tubeless on a UST rim.
Both tires went on without tire levers, I only used my hands to get the final tire bead into the rim channel. A liberal smathering of soapy water on the tire bead and furious pumping on the floor pump got the beads to seat after two or three tries. I always seem to enjoy when the tire beads seat with the distinctive metallic "ping". Satisfying.
I initially used the Mavic valve stem when setting up the front wheel. When I went to add Stans goop via the syringe I encountered an annoying problem. The syringe will not screw onto the Mavic valve stem at all even with the collar removed. The valve stem is entirely too short. I tried to fill the tire without it engaged. FAIL. The valve stem fell into the tire and some goop spilled onto my flor. Gahh! is all I can say. Trying to unseat a tire from a UST rim is maddingly difficult but after some tugging and pulling finally go a tire lever under one side. Need another solution.
Luckily, I had ordered a couple spare Stans valve stems. They are much longer than the Mavic ones so I used them and created a bastard Stans/Mavic valve stem: the longer Stans valve stem along with the rubber o-ring and collar from Mavic. The Stans valve stem is long enough for the Stans syringe to engage fully.
The front wheel/tire set-up tubeless nicely. I'll have to add a little more Stans goop as some of the initial syringe got wasted on the floor. The rear wheel/tire will be another story. The tire will just not sit into the rim channel properly to do the mad floor pump action to seat the beads. Will definitely need to go to a gas station and use the air compressor to get the job done. Seat the beads then insert goop at home.

soapy water does wonders. Also you can try a motorcycle strap around the tire and cinch it down. It'll force the tire to flatten and widen hopefully making it easier to seat. Works for me. I don't have UST rims though. I've been running Maxxis Larsen TT USTs with American Classic tubeless rims. Feels wonderful at 22psi.
